About Our Kennel
So, our kennel is more of passion than a business. This is likely to be our first - and last - litter, but that doesn’t mean we don’t take breeding and animal husbandry seriously. We have tested, hunted, researched and worked heavily with our dog. Located in Katy Texas, we actively use our dog to retrieve waterfowl, bloodtrack deer, point rabbits, quail, pheasant, grouse, and the chase the family favorite - woodcock. Our dog is a family member first… but she would tell you that she is a hunter first.
It started out as a project between a father and his children. The agreement was we could get a dog if everybody committed to train, test, work, and care for the new family member… and… if this turned into a once in a lifetime dog… We would go through the breeding process. My son (12 at the time) was the handler for the NAVHDA Natural Ability Test (Prize I), and my daughter (11 at the time) handled Honey for the IABCA conformance tests (IntCH).
Why Honey Comb? To pay for the dog, my children work between 8 and 12 beehives each year, sell honey and used that money to buy our dog - “Honey”. Honey Comb was just my wife’s quip on what I should call this website. It just fits.
We are expecting a Litter on the Ground December 9th/10th 2025, puppies will probably go home about 8/9 weeks later (~Feb 3rd/10th)
